We ordered a down-sized H1212 CNC unit from Rob in the autumn of 2020, following a couple of visits to his workshop in Stockport. Our machine has a working area approx. 1100mm wide across the front by just over 900mm deep from front to back so as to fit into our workshop. The unit was ready for collection just before Christmas 2020, at which time Rob spent half a day advising us on setting up and using the unit. Since it was installed (see attached photograph) the machine has been in use virtually every day and has performed almost faultlessly. The only problem we had arose from our not having set the unit up absolutely level, causing one of the Y axis bearings to fail. Rob visited our workshop and diagnosed the problem very quickly and supplied a replacement bearing. Since then the machine has worked perfectly, allowing us to produce a large number of highly detailed engraved wooden wall plaques, signs and clocks, many with 3D relief carvings. We have been totally satisfied with the quality and performance of the machine and the after-sales advice and service from Rob.

Met with rob to discuss building a new cnc router for me, after meeting with him to talk about my requirements whilst also learning more about software drawing and programming i placed my order.
Although the lead time was 8-10 weeks once i had collected my shiny new machine i was not disappointed had a few teething problems most of which rob sorted out over the phone and he even came down on a Saturday and spent most of the day with me just to make sure everything was good.
My machine works perfectly and is now churning out my work and im still learning more everyday i will be keeping in touch with rob he has a wealth of knowledge and is happy to help wherever he can.

I picked up a 1515 from R&R Designs at the back end of January. As a relative newbie to CNC I had a lot to learn in all departments (and will still be learning for a long while I think). So basically had 2 months of learning, familiarisation and playing, finding out what I can do with it.
Loving the machine, which is a bit of a custom build to save on width as it needed to squeeze into a specific space, but wanted a decent area to work with.
Rob has been very helpful (and patient) every step of the way, and gives true meaning the the words "customer service". I have had one site visit, and plenty of remote support. Just today he talked me through what I needed to do to add a tool setter to the machine and configure in Mach3, and it went very smoothly.

I would recommend anyone considering a CNC or requiring spares, end mills etc. to check R&R out and see what they can do.
